Fee for Credit for Prior Learning - Experiential Learning

Students will be assessed a fee based on 50% of the current tuition rate on the total credits awarded (e.g., for 12 credits awarded: 0.50 x current tuition rate x 12 credits).

CLEP (College Level exam Program) Exam

CLEP exams allow you to earn credit based on knowledge or experience you already have. To schedule a CLEP exam at MCCΒ call (603) 206-8145.

  • Test times are Monday through Friday beginning at 9:30am.
  • There is a $25.00 administrative fee payable to Manchester Community College on the day of the test.
  • Registration for the CLEP exam is done through the Collegeboard.org website.
  • The exam fee is $97 as of July 1, 2025.

Credit by Examination

As a matriculated student you can also earn credit by examination, based on acquired skills or knowledge equivalent to what you would acquire in a specific MCC course. You need a CGPA of 2.0 or higher and are eligible for a maximum of 16 credits through credit by examination.

If you pass the exam, appropriate credits shall be applied to your academic record. Credit will not be given for grades below a “C”. A student receiving a grade below “C” is ineligible for another special examination in that course.

Students who have previously taken a course and failed it are not eligible for an examination for credit in that course.

Please note: Typically, credit earned by internal examination is not transferrable to other institutions.
