Events & Projects
Each year Student Senate puts on a series of events in an effort to improve the MCC environment.
Club Fair
Held at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters, the Club Fair is a gathering of all the student clubs and organizations on campus where new and returning students can inquire with the clubs in a social setting. Student clubs use the Club Fair as a recruiting opportunity to build membership for the upcoming semester(s).
Thanksgiving Feast
Before Thanksgiving each year, all students, faculty and staff gather together to share a traditional American feast. This is particularly meaningful for our international students who may not have experienced this tradition previously. A canned food drive or other service project is often linked to this event.
Student Service Showcase
Held each spring, the Student Service Showcase is an opportunity for the entire college to hear about the amazing experiences that MCC students had while engaging in global, domestic and local community service through student organizations.
Student Leadership Celebration
Senate recognizes graduating students who have exhibited the qualities of excellence throughout their time at MCC. Recipients are recommended by each club and organization and awarded at a special luncheon ceremony.
Faculty/Staff Appreciation
Senate reaches out to thank the MCC faculty and staff for their support of the student body through a gesture of appreciation at the end of each academic year.
Senior Send-Off
Senate holds a Senior Send-Off each year on graduation day between rehearsal and commencement. This event brings together graduating students, their family and friends and faculty and staff for a final celebration.
Graduating students are presented with a parting gift in remembrance of their MCC experience.
